Leh Airport is nestled in The Mighty Himalayan Mountain Range, one of the highest airports in the world and is also considered to be one of the most scenic owing to its heavenly surroundings. It is encircled by immense golden brown, barren mountains which are truly a sight for sore eyes.
The rest of the evening is reserved for you to acclimatize yourself by casually strolling in and around your lodgings only or having some leisure time. Overnight stay at Leh City.

Tse-mo-gompa is most renowned for its three-story high solid gold statue of Maitreya Buddha. Shanti stupa is a magnificent white-domed Buddhist monument located atop a steep hilltop.

Explore the gorgeous town of Leh and its beautiful stopovers. The most prominent among them is the Leh Palace. The ruins of this 350-year-old, nine-story-high Palace offer a breathtaking view of the city of Leh and its surroundings. The Leh Market is starkly different from its metropolitan counterparts. The shops here are small, colorful, and vibrant. It has a rare mix of Western and native cultures which is unique to itself.
Leh also boasts of a widely diverse population and shows their influences on its infrastructure. The Shanti Stupa, Central Asian Museum, Zorawar Fort, Gurudwara Shri Pathar Sahib, and Magnetic Hill all lie within 25 km of Leh’s radius. Also within this radius is the Indian Army’s Hall of Fame Museum (closed on Monday). It is a monument dedicated to the soldiers who served, and/or perished on the borders during wartime.
The Sangam (Confluence of rivers) between the ice-cold Zanskar and the mighty Indus is incredible to watch. Its gushing blue waters put on a stunning display of power. Once you’ve absorbed in all these wonderful sights you will return to Leh and spend the night there.

Zanskar River is shiny blue, on the other hand, the Indus looks a little green. Zanskar meets Indus in Nimmu Valley from the northeast. The thing that makes this place interesting is the colors of the rivers. Zanskar River is fluorescent blue and Indus looks a little green. They both meet in Nimmu Valley.
Magnetic Hill, is the place where gravity takes a backseat. Lying at a distance of around 30 km from Leh. The layout of the area and surrounding slopes create the optical illusion of a hill. The hill road is a downhill road. Objects and cars on the hill road may appear to roll uphill in defiance of gravity when they are rolling downhill.
A peaceful place that was built by the Lamas to honor Guru Nanak Dev, founder of the Sikh faith. He visited this place in 1517. It is 25km from Leh on Kargil road. The boulder with the imprint of the body of Guru Nanak Dev and the footprint of the demon is on display in Gurdwara Pathar Sahib.
Tse-mo-Gompa is most renowned for its three-story high solid gold statue of Maitreya Buddha. The monastery offers a panoramic vista of the flowing Indus River, the snow-capped Zanskar range, and the surrounding countryside. Founded in 1430 by King Tashi Namgyal of Ladakh, It is situated near Tsemo Castle. This is a monastery that gives an awesome view of the complete place and surroundings.
The Hall of Fame, located near the Leh Airfield, is a museum constructed as well as maintained by the Indian Army in memory of the soldiers who had lost their lives during the Indo-Pak wars. It is also termed as a memorial for the war heroes. Run by the Indian Army, this museum/war memorial houses weapons, history exhibits & a souvenir shop.
Shanti Stupa is a Buddhist white-domed Stupa on a hilltop in Chanspa, Leh district, Ladakh, in north India. It was built in 1991 by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu, Gyomyo Nakamura. The Shanti Stupa holds the relics of the Buddha at its base, enshrined by the 14th Dalai Lama.
Leh Palace was built by King Sengge Namgyal during the 1500s and completed by the 17th century. Its facade resembles that of the Potala Palace in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Leh Palace's roof offers amazing views of the Ladakh region and the Stok Kangri. It has a rich collection of Jewellery, Ornaments, and Ceremonial Crowns.
Khardung La or Khardung Pass is a mountain pass in the Leh. The pass is on the Ladakh Range, north of Leh, and connects the Indus River valley and the Shyok River valley. It also forms the gateway to the Nubra valley, beyond which lies the Siachen Glacier. Famously known as the gateway to the Nubra and Shyok Valleys in the Ladakh.
Nubra Valley Known as Ldumra (the valley of flowers) is situated in the north of Leh. The average altitude of the valley is about 10,000 ft. above sea level. The main attraction in this area is the Bactrian Camels (Shaggy double hump Camel) around dunes, Deskit, and Samstanling monasteries. Its inhabited areas form a tri-armed valley cut by the Nubra and Shyok rivers. Its Tibetan name Dumra means a "valley of flowers".

After an early breakfast, Check out from your hotel & drive to your next destination Tso Pangong 13,943 ft. via Shyok. This route goes via Agham – Shyok Village – Durbuk – Tangste to reach Pangong Tso. The first glimpse of the tranquil, azure blue waters and shaky lakeshore of Tso Pangong remains etched in the memory of tourists.
On arrival at your destination, Check in to your pre-arranged Tent. In the evening, have some leisure time near Pangong Lake.

A different kind of experience is a white desert in the lap of mountains. Cold winds with snow-covered mountains must visit and a night stay in Nubra Valley. which is situated about 10 km from Diskit village. Let us tell you that this place will change the definition of camel ride and sand for you. The white rolling sands with a river flowing nearby. At such altitude, the existence of desert is surprising and beauty personified.
The 108-foot-tall statue of Maitreya Buddha is located just below the Diskit monastery, at an altitude of 10,308 feet, 15 kilometers northwest of the Khalsar-Panakil route, right at the edge of the desert in the Nubra Valley. While the Diskit Monastery is a major tourist place to visit in Nubra Valley in itself, you cannot miss out on the Maitreya Buddha statue.
The Shyok River is a tributary of the Indus River that flows through northern Ladakh and enters Gilgit–Baltistan, spanning some 550 km. The Shyok River originates at the Rimo Glacier, one of the tongues of the Siachen Glacier.
The magic of Pangong Lake lies in its changing hues, as the sun hovers over it. It is probably the bluest and the most crystal-clear lake you would have seen so far. It is one of the highest-altitude lakes in the world that is filled with saline water. It is located at an altitude of 4350 m above sea level. It is home to many migratory birds, from ducks and geese to the rare and elusive, Black-necked Crane. What will surprise you is that the lake lies only partially in India, its major chunk lying in China-occupied Tibet. In winter the entire lake freezes to the point where you can walk over it.

Chang La is a high mountain pass in Ladakh at an elevation of 5,391.3024 m or 17,688.000 ft in the Ladakh Range between Leh and the Shyok River valley. The Chang La, on the Leh to Pangong Lake road, lies on the Leh-Karu-Sakti-Zingral-Chang La-Durbuk-Tangtse-Pagong Lake motorable road.
Sindhu Ghat comes on the way from Manali entering Leh. It is close to the Shey Palace and on the way to the Thiksey Monastery from Leh. There is a beautiful place also called Sindhu Darshan Point (translated as the Indus View Point). A light walk at this place will add more charm. It introduces us to the old grandness of the Indus River. It is a spot to spend some quiet moments and a must-visit attraction on any visit to Leh.

In Leh, winters are very cold, and heavy snowfall is common, making it very harsh weather for visiting and tourism. The mercury level goes below 0°C and the whole region is covered with snow in Leh in the winter season.
There is a liquor vend / theka near the Leh petrol pump next to the roundabout from where you can stock your quota. Beer and some IMFL brands are available but it's difficult to get high-end/ imported brands.
Don't go or swim in the lake The lake is holy to the locals and the water is too cold. This type of activity can take your life as there is no hospital in a 34-kilometer radius.
