Overall, Vietnam is considered a safe country for tourists. While it is always important to be cautious and aware of your surroundings, Vietnam is a wonderful destination that offers a wealth of cultural, scenic, and culinary experiences.
The top cities like Hanoi, Saigon, Danang, Hoi An, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc are the most vibrant places to experience the nightlife of Vietnam. You can stroll around the streets for food or shopping, enjoy the party vibes at local bars & clubs or go to night markets!
The best time to visit Vietnam is from March to April & May when rainfall is low and temperatures are milder. In a country more than 1,600 km (1,000 miles) long, the weather in Vietnam varies considerably as you go from north to south, from a temperate to a tropical climate.
Items that you cannot bring into Vietnam include weapons, munitions, explosives and inflammables, firecrackers of all kinds, opium and drugs, toxic chemicals, and cultural materials unsuitable to Vietnamese society (pornographic seditious publications, films and photos), harmful child toys.
Travelers with limited time can rejoice that Vietnam is small enough to experience the highlights in just a few days. That said, the ideal timeframe is about 8 to 10 days, as it takes at least this long to immerse yourself in Vietnam's rich culture.
Wearing shorts is acceptable in most situations for both men and women. However, Vietnam's traditional culture is somewhat conservative, so avoiding sleeveless shirts, tank tops, or short shorts—especially while visiting temples—shows the greatest respect for them.
